Let’s grab a coffee and chat with Robert Harris, a vital member of our team here at OrderCounter. Robert plays a pivotal role in improving efficiency and workflow by automating different services we interface and integrate with, all while providing technical support. But there’s more to him than just tech jargon and coding—let’s dive into our conversation with him to learn more about his journey and his pivotal role at OrderCounter:
What’s the coolest thing you’ve worked on, or are currently working on and why?
Honestly, learning how to write scripts in Zoho Desk has been one of the coolest things I’ve worked on. It’s definitely improved my understanding of programming and my confidence with coding. A lot of our automated communication runs off of it.
How does your background relate to what you’re doing now at OrderCounter?
I’ve been tinkering with computers since I was 11 and have always progressed rapidly with technology. Obtaining certifications like Security+, Network+, and A+ felt natural, leading me to a job where I can utilize and develop my skills.
Who inspires you?
Will Weeks, a member of the electronic music group KOAN Sound. They taught me that you can split a sound into three parts and process each part differently. This technique isn’t only for sound design but can be applied to life as well.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
When we had Chipotle for one of the lunch meetings, and I had a chicken quesadilla with queso dip.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about learning different technologies, cars, anime, video games, art, fashion, and music.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’ve been producing music since the age of 11 and professionally since 18. I’ve amassed roughly 10+ million streams on multiple songs I produced.
What is your favorite part about working here?
Learning and developing skills from tech all the way to communication.
