OrderCounter Named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Aug. 12, 2025OrderCounter™, a self-funded point-of-sale provider serving restaurants and small businesses, has earned national recognition as one of America’s fastest-growing private companies with its inclusion on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list. The Inc. 5000 is the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s top private companies, offering a data-driven snapshot of the most successful organizations within the economy’s most dynamic segment — independent, entrepreneurial businesses. Past honorees include Microsoft, Meta, Chobani, Under Armour, Timberland, Oracle and Patagonia.

“We’ve been self-funded from the beginning – no venture capital, no outside ownership,” said Thomas Barrineau IV, CEO and co-founder of OrderCounter. “We built OrderCounter to serve our partners, not shareholders. This recognition reflects their loyalty as much as our team’s commitment.”

Since its launch, OrderCounter has focused on building a POS platform that balances flexibility and reliability, enabling businesses to operate smoothly both online and offline. The company’s hybrid model blends the convenience of cloud-based tools with the stability of an in-store server, giving business owners control over their operations without tying them to a single payment processor.

This national spotlight follows another major industry honor: OrderCounter recently won Gold in Software for the RSPA Vendor Award of Excellence. The Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) is the largest community of retail IT professionals. The software category is the most competitive, typically dominated by much larger, well-funded companies. OrderCounter’s win underscores the product’s strength and the trust it has earned within the channel.

“Making the Inc. 5000 is always a remarkable achievement, but earning a spot this year speaks volumes about a company’s tenacity and clarity of vision,” said Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc. magazine. “These businesses have thrived amid rising costs, shifting global dynamics and constant change. They didn’t just weather the storm – they grew through it.”

OrderCounter will be honored alongside other Inc. 5000 recipients at the 2025 Inc. 5000 Conference & Gala, taking place Oct. 22-24 in Phoenix.
